About the Artist

On That Whole Outsider Art Thing

Through art I communicate the inner workings of an epileptic life, where I shelter the storm and journey home to clarity. While my mind rewires, I create order of chaos with acrylic, ink, and charcoal. Zigs and zags are trees, lightning, radiant sunbeams. Dark demons elevate into elegant forces of nature within the realm of spiritual surrealism.  As Rilke wrote, “Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.” Love becomes an infinite series of mixed-media goddesses, mythical creatures, and reimagined fairy tales. Method is embracing non-method, listening to inner voice, accepting mind, and opening heart.
