Maine Arts Commission partnered with the Maine Bureau of Agriculture, Food & Rural Resources to turn a sterile office building into a pop-up art gallery. A year long pop-up!
That's me in front of "The Land of Milk and Honey." Painting features Hannahanna the Hittite goddess with her magical bee. TLOMAH is in the apiary section of the agricultural wing, natch. You can find this and 165 other pieces hanging in the Deering Building on 90 Blossom Lane in Augusta, Maine. I'd meant to put up a long post before the event, but this summer's been crazy. Hot and crazy. Come check out the online gallery posted by Maine Arts Commission!
My painting is hanging on the wall, but the photo isn't coming up on the site. Here it is:
The Land of Milk and Honey. Acrylic, gold leaf, alcohol ink, building paste, oil detail. 2024
Here is a flyer. It's out of date, but there's a broader and immediate range of photos:
I will post more at some point.
